For the academic year of 2019-2020, I have been an intern at Northside Hospital. The internship consisted of 4 rotations in different areas of the hospital to provide me with more knowledge of different medical careers paths. My first 3 rotations included the Cardiothoracic Unit, Sports Medicine Unit, and the Intensive Care Unit. In many of these units more specifically the ICU, I assisted in caring for patients who had Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Watching not only the patient but their families struggle with the diagnosis made me want to learn more about research being done to fine a cure for Alzheimer's.
